In late December, Lamb Weston announced it had acquired Australia-based Marvel Packers, which operates potato processing and storage facilities.  Company officials say this acquisition enables Lamb Weston to boost global production capacity, increase its presence in the Australian market, and create new opportunities to serve customers.

Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.  The Marvel facility adds approximately 50 million pounds of production capacity to Lamb Weston’s existing global manufacturing network.  Lamb Weston is a major supplier of frozen potato, sweet potato, appetizer and vegetable products to restaurants and retailers worldwide.  The company now owns and operates 16 processing facilities worldwide and has nine others with joint-venture partners.
