EPA Working To Get WOTUS In Federal Register

The new WOTUS rule has yet to be published in the Federal Register.

"The process of getting it into the Federal Register is a mechanical process of editing and things like that and publication. So, we expect that to actually hit the Federal Register sometime in the next few weeks, probably in early January."

But, Dave Ross, Acting EPA Administrator says once the proposed redefinition of the Waters of the U.S. is published, a 60-day comment period is then opened.  Ross added the EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold webinars and listening sessions on the proposal.

"So, the goal is to sort of educate and then listen, take comments and hopefully get positive or negative feedback on our proposal.”

Meanwhile, a pre-publication version of the Federal Register Notice is available for review Online.
