Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said America seems divided on so many levels these days.  And he hopes the USDA can bring people together, maybe not politically, but virtually.

Through the Connect America, the Departments new effort to bring high speed broadband service to everybody in rural areas.  Perdue recently thanked Congress for the $600 million it gave USDA for a pilot project to demonstrate the best most efficient ways to expand rural broadband service.  Perdue said this reconnect program will have communities submitting competitive broadband project ideas for possible USDA help.

"There will be loans there will be loan grant combinations and absolute grant combinations there for different types of efforts in our communities."

Now there are many rules, regulations, requirements, technical and financial for the projects USDA plans workshops and webinars to help applicants with the process.  For the latest information visit the USDA’s Website.
