Now that the 116th Congress is up and running, what are some of the biggest Ag issues lawmaker in D.C. will address?

For the previous congress much of the focus was on the 2018 Farm Bill and updating NAFTA.  For the next two years, Central Washington’s Dan Newhouse says trade and specifically the trade war with China will be near the top of the list.

“But I think Ag labor as well will remain being a key issue that we need to focus on.  Trade and labor and certainly in our part of the world with an El Niño potentially in affect this winter, water issues will continue to be a very high priority.”

Newhouse added the Administration will continue to work to level the international playing field for American producers.
