After weeks of decline, the rate of drop for area diesel prices has slowed.  The national average for a gallon of diesel is $2.92, one cent lower over the past week.  Washington’s average dropped two cents to $3.19 a gallon.  And Oregon’s price hovers at $3.08, down three cents over the past week.

GasBuddy.com’s Patrick DeHaan said fuel prices have seen little change over the past week, and he anticipates this is the calm before the storm.  He added if the U.S. and China can agree on a trade deal, fuel prices most likely will move higher.

As far as local diesel prices are concerned:

  • $2.83 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
  • $2.69 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.63 a gallon in Quincy
  • $3.09 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $3.14 a gallon in Ephrata
  • $3.04 a gallon in Pendleton
  • $2.99 a gallon in Moses Lake
  • $3.19 a gallon in Walla Walla
