Northwest Remains Unseasonably Warm

The past week has been one of change in the weather category.  After stagnate air and cool temperatures last week, systems rolled in over the weekend, not only clearing out the air, but bringing showers for a much of the Inland Northwest.  But as meteorologist Marilyn Lohman pointed out, the showers were reported primarily in southern Washington and northern Oregon.

“The Tri-Cities and Yakima in particular saw right around 1”, Pendleton around 1.25”, but not so much in northern Washington, where the amounts were generally from ½” at Wenatchee over to Spokane, and less than ¼” up in Omak.”

Lohmann noted even when the air was stagnate last week, temperatures have been mild for this time of year, anywhere from 3-5 degrees above average.  Lohmann noted that additional systems are expected to roll in as the week wraps up.

But she said high pressure is expected to build in over the weekend, leading to clear skies.
