The Washington state Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for Northeast Washington Wolf-Livestock Management grants.  The grants are used to create a local approach to providing assistance with non-lethal management methods to reduce livestock depredations by wolves in the four NE Washington counties (Okanogan, Ferry, Steven and Pend Oreille counties).  The funds, $352,000 for the upcoming biennium, are open to non-profit community based collaborative organizations with advisory boards that include personnel from relevant agencies.

Those receiving grant money must have the financial capability to pay project costs up-front and request reimbursement for grant funds.  Proposals are due by July 1st with winners being announced July and August.
