If you can't wait to spend more time outdoors this time of year, Belle Bergner has some advice before you hit the trails.

“’Play Clean Go’ is a campaign that targets outdoor recreationists, and our goal is to teach everyone who enjoys going outside they have a role to play in preventing the spread of invasive species.”

Bergner is the national campaign director for ‘Play Clean Go.’

“It's all about cleaning your gear before you go out and before you come back.  So as you're putting your shoes on, as you're putting your socks on, your backpack, getting your bike ready you're checking your gear to make sure it's clean it's free of  mud and potentially seed or plant parts.”

One for the most basic outdoor activities is hiking.  And she notes, when you're done for the day, before leaving the trail head, take out your boot brush, and clean your gear before you leave.  Click Here to learn more about the Play Clean Go program.
