USMCA has been ratified in Mexico, and the trade deal has been gaining momentum in Canada.  However, the trade deal appears to be stalled in Washington D.C.

Or is it?

Representative Dan Newhouse, a supporter of USMCA says he’s happy with the progress he’s seen.  He said it helps to have high profile individual such as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and former Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack voicing support for the updated NAFTA.

"So I think we’re making some good progress, Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi, has named a committee of democratic members to look into different areas, and concerns that they might have, so at least they’re talking about some of the issues that concern them.  And that’s a good thing because they are at the table.”

Newhouse continues to say that lawmakers need to vote on USMCA and get it approved to help producers, not only across the Northwest, but across the U.S.
