According to NASS, all wheat stocks in storage across the northwest increased 1% year-over year.

 

As of September 1st, wheat stored in Washington totaled 155 million bushels, down from 166 million bushels reported in September 2018.  Off-farm stocks were down 9%, while on-farm stocks were up 14%.  In Oregon, stored wheat topped at 50.1 million bushels, up from 45.5 million bushels a year ago.  Off-farm stocks were down 2%, while on-farm stocks were up 73% year-over-year.  In Idaho, all wheat stored totaled 92.2 million bushels in Idaho, up from 83 million bushels in 2018.  Off-farm stocks were down 3%, while on-farm stocks were up 37% compared to the previous year.

 

Nationally, stored wheat topped out at 2.38 billion bushels, down 10 million bushels from last year. Off-farm stocks were down 8%, while on-farm stocks were up 23% compared to the previous year.

 

As far as Barley is concerned, in Washington, stored barley hit 6.22 million bushels, up from 4.69 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 20%, while on-farm stocks were up 65% compared to 2018.  In Oregon, barley stored in all positions totaled 1.77 million bushels, up from 997,000 bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 5%, while on-farm stocks were up 160% compared to the previous year.  In Idaho, total barley in storage increased to 59.8 million bushels, up from last year’s 48.6 million bushels. Off-farm stocks were up 8%, while on-farm stocks were up 35% compared to the previous year.

 

Nationally, barley stored in all positions totaled 192 million bushels, up from 175 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 12%, while on-farm stocks were up 30% compared to the previous year.

 

When it comes to oats, in Washington off-farm storage totaled 54,000 bushels, down from 66,000 bushels last year.  In Oregon, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 228,000 bushels, down from 448,000 in 2018.  And for Idaho, oats stored in off-farm locations totaled 106,000 bushels, down from 123,000 bushels a year ago.

 

Nationally, oats stored in all positions totaled 61.2 million bushels, down from 74.8 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 38%, while on-farm stocks were down 1% compared to the previous year.

 

When it comes to corn, off-farm storage in Idaho topped out at 3.42 million bushels, up from 2.19 million bushels a year ago. In Washington, corn stored in off-farm locations totaled 5.81 million bushels, up from 5.24 million bushels year-over-year.  Nationally, corn stored in all positions totaled 2.11 billion bushels, down from 2.14 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 10%, while on-farm stocks were up 22% compared to the previous year.
