2019 & 2020 ARC/PLC Enrollment Underway

Enrollment is underway for the Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loan Coverage Farm Bill safety net-programs for crop year 2020, and that enrollment period runs through June 30th.  However, at the same time FSA is taking enrollment for 2019 ARC/PLC; that enrollment runs through March 15th.

Why is the USDA signing up both programs at the same time?

"It has to do with when the farm bill was signed and the ability to get ARC and PLC up and running," said FSA Administrators Richard Fordyce.  "Once we get through this year, the sign up periods will be more in line with historical periods."

Fordyce says producers who have yet to make their 2019 election for other programs or enroll in either 2019 or 2020 crop year.

"You can do those in the same visit at your local Farm Service Agency office," Fordyce said.  "You do have to be sign up for 2019 before you can sign up for 2020."
