Fire Destroys Whitman County Elevator

Fire destroyed a Whitman County grain elevator Tuesday.  According to Pullman Radio News, the fire at Knott Elevator west of Endicott broke out around 1 p.m.  Area firefighters from LaCrosse, St. John, Colfax and surrounding communities responded but could not snuff out the flames.  The elevator and 100,000 bushels of wheat were lost in Tuesday's fire.

No one was injured in the fire, investigators are trying to determine what sparked the blaze.
