Starting Monday November 4th, ballots for this year's FSA County Committee election were mailed out.  Producers that vote need to get those ballots turned in by December 2nd to have their selections count.  The FSA's Steve Peterson said one third of county committee seats across the country are up for election annually.  Hee added the County Committee is vital for the local farmer.

"They play a role in making local determinations of how FSA runs programs they also are involved in making county executive directors selections in the hiring process for the local FSA office."

Ballots will be counted during December and newly appointed county committee members will take office on January 1st.  Peterson reminded people nominees are local Ag producers themselves, and customers of FSA and USDA programs.

"And it's critical that we get the people like producers, farmers, ranchers and foresters want representing them in the community."
