Over the next 50 years, could national FFA delegates be comparable to Neil Armstrong and the many astronauts, scientists and supporters of the Apollo lunar landing.  The USDA's Ted McKinney said that comparison works if you look at what it will take to feed a growing population over the next five decades.

"I don't know what your job, what your role will be, but if it's in agriculture or anything close I beg of you, we need you."

McKinney speaking at this year's National FFA Convention said that no matter the position, leadership and leadership skills developed by FFA members will be essential going forward; both in the world in general and in leading the efforts of agriculture and feeding the globe specifically.

"Whether it's helping somebody through a parliamentary procedure issue  or an impromptu speaking or a defense of agriculture we need you very, very badly."
