The 2020 Washington legislative session will be here before you know it.  And while much of the Ag community is watching taxes, H2-A and labor issues very carefully, Jon DeVaney with the Washington state Tree Fruit Association says the environment will be a key issue as well.  He said during this short session, the Ag industry needs to watch the conversation when it comes to climate change and a carbon tax.

“Specifically how that might increase energy and transportation costs.  And when you physically need to move a product as opposed to downloading one, over the internet, we have to be watching those issues very carefully.”

The 2020 Washington legislative session runs January 13th through March 12th.
