NASS is currently conducting its Fruit Chemical Use Survey.  This survey is done in the tree fruit industry every two years to determine what products producers are using and how often.  Chris Mertz with NASS said this is a survey that’s embraced and encouraged by the industry.

“The Northwest Horticultural Council, they support this particular survey and they wrote an industry support letter, expressing that they its very important in the work that they do.  So, I like to tie everything that we do to an organization that is uses that data to help the farmer and speak on their behalf.”

Mertz added NASS is out in the field talking to producers now.  In the event that you have not been contacted by NASS, Mertz says you can contact their regional office, or stop by their booth at the Northwest Horticultural Expo, taking place next month in Wenatchee.
