We in the Ag community love living in our small communities, and all the charm that goes with it.  But a new report out by the USDA’s Economic Research Service, says rural portions of America are dealing with some very real problems.

Problems, such as population declines, and when compared to more metropolitan areas, higher rates of poverty, lower income rates, an higher rates of unemployment.  USDA economist John Pender, coordinator of the Rural America at a Glance report, said this is part of a long term declining trend.  Pender recently sat down with Gary Crawford.
