Ask Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue, and he'll tell you farmers, "are some of the most resilient people you'll ever run in to.  They just keep on keepin' on."

At the recent National 4-H Congress, Perdue assured students that despite low commodity prices and trade disruptions young people have a bright future in agriculture.  The question for those in 4-H, as well as those in the field, will farmers need another round of trade aid?

"I think if we can get this China deal going where they've committed to buy virtually twice what they've bought in the future hopefully we won't need any," Perdue noted.  "I think this will impact prices and being able to move products and that's what farmers want."

Perdue said the trade agreements with South Korea and Japan will help the farmers' situation as well as USMCA.
