Maybe you’ve heard there is going to be a shortage of Christmas trees this year.  Whether you heard that on-line, from your mom or somewhere else, know it is not true.

“We are not going to run out of Christmas trees," said Angie Smith, Executive Director of the Pacific Northwest Christmas Tree Association.  "I can tell you there is no situation different this year than there has been in the past several years.  There has been, admittedly a tighter supply, but everyone has gotten a tree over the past couple of years and everyone will get a tree this year as well.”

Smith acknowledges there are fewer grower now than a decade ago.

“We are seeing there is a tighter supply, so there’s not that same number of trees there were ten years ago when we had a glut.  So, people are recommended to shop early.  But they will find a tree regardless.”

Smith said trees will cost a little more this year.  She added when possible, it’s best to purchase you Christmas trees locally.
