Funding for the federal government has been approved through September.  The fiscal year 2020 appropriations package recently cleared the House and the Senate.  And was signed in to law by President Trump.

Highlights of the package from the Ag perspective include additional monies for disaster aid related to 2018 and 2019 natural disasters.  Funding to implement farm bill programs, an extension of the bio diesel tax credit, and grant funding related to rural broadband expansion were also included.  That measure was applauded by several including Rob Larew of the National Farmers Union.

“Nobody argues that broadband is not important, everybody argues that we need it and we need it now,” Larew said.  “I hope that we're beginning to see movement in that front, which is probably hopefully going to make some changes in some of these rural communities. It's desperately needed.”
