Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s Snake River Dams stakeholder consultant team will hold its third of three public information workshops in the Tri-Cities Monday.  The event will allow those from the Columbia Basin and surrounding area to get a first glimpse of the report, focused on the economic impact to region if the four lower Snake River dams were removed.

Before that workshop takes place the Tri-Cities Legislative Council will host a rally: “Know the Dam Facts”.

“[It’s an effort] to reach out and sort of educate the public a little bit more about the study that the governor did as well as allow folks to hear some more facts about the Snake River dams that they would maybe not necessarily have in their back pocket,” said Pam Lewison Ag Director at the Washington Policy Center.

She added the rally will include speakers and industry leaders from farming, labor, power, transportation and more.

“Farmers are starting to be more cognizant of speaking out on issues like this.”

The Know the Dam Facts rally gets underway Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the Pasco Red Lion.  The workshop runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
