For eligible farm and land owners interested in enrolling acres in CRP, you have one month left to do so.

“Where offers will continue to be ranked based on environmental factors,” said Farm Service Agency Administrator Richard Fordyce.

The current general sign up will allow first time land owners to enroll in CRP, or existing customer to re-enroll acreage for another 10 to 15 year contract period.  But enrolment decisions must be submitted by the end of the month.

“To ensure decisions on acceptance are made in early spring prior to planting so farmers and ranchers can use best management practices on that ground in preparation for CRP.”

Producers can enroll or learn more information about the Conservation Reserve Program, and the general sign-up through their local FSA office. or by visiting FSA’s Website.  The deadline to enroll is February 28th.
