Supporters of a recently launched bipartisan caucus in Idaho hope to address some of the unique challenges to the Gem State.  The Farm, Ranch and Timber Caucus has members from both the House and Senate looking at how to come up with solutions to issues facing Idaho, all while educating a growing population disconnected from rural life.

“There are a lot of the same problems regardless of where you go in Idaho, but the perspectives and the solutions are going to be vastly different between rural and urban areas," said Washington Ag Network reporter Riley Haun.  "So, it’s going to be kind of an educationally focused caucus.  Not a whole lot of political debate, or work shopping legislation or anything like that, just an educational opportunity for anybody who wants to know more about these issues.”

The caucus was the brain-child of Genesee Republican Caroline Troy as she worked with a colleague from Gooding, Representative Sally Toone.  The Caucus already has support from many in the Ag community.  Troy said the hope is not only to educate, but to create a caucus that has staying power for years to come.
