The USDA is out with more detail on the part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program that addresses the $16 billion dollars of direct payments to producers who have suffered coronavirus-related losses.

"We will being Farm Service Agency and those country offices taking applicants next Tuesday, May 26th and that will occur for the next three months until the end of August," said the USDA's Bill Northey.

For more information that producers will need to know to sign-up are available on the USDA's Website. Bill Northey added you’ll find a list of eligible commodities on there, as well as the rules on how losses and payment are to be calculated, and what you need to give your local Farm Service Agency office in order to apply.
