Former Oregon Farm Bureau President Barry Bushue has been appointed state director of the Bureau of Land Management for Oregon and Washington. Bushue is currently the State Executive Director of the Oregon Farm Service Agency, where he oversaw the implementation of programs and policies across 23 county offices, the state office, all with a total of 100 employees.

Prior to that Bushue was president of the OFB for nearly 20 years. During his career, Bushue also served as the Vice President of the American Farm Bureau, based in Washington, D.C.

BLM Deputy Director William Perry Pendley said “Bushue will be a strong leader in natural resource management in Oregon and Washington.  He understands the Pacific Northwest and the importance of the public lands to communities in the region."
