On Friday, the Washington Farm Bureau announced it was endorsing Representative Dan Newhouse’s reelection effort this fall. The Farm Bureau said it endorsed the third-generation Sunnyside area farmer and former director of the state Department of Agriculture because he understands firsthand the challenges before farmers and ranchers across Central Washington.

“Congressman Newhouse has been a great champion for agriculture,” Washington Farm Bureau C.E.O. John Stuhlmiller said. “He understands our farmers and ranchers. We appreciate his continued leadership for Washington agriculture,” he added.

Washington Farm Bureau is the largest general farm organization in the state, which represents the interests of more than 47,000 member families. Through advocacy and grassroots organization, their chief aim is to ensure our family farms can continue to feed the world.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Washington Farm Bureau,” Congressman Newhouse said. “I will always be an advocate for agriculture, whether it’s working to pass trade deals that level the playing field and open new markets, cutting bureaucratic red tape, or ensuring farmers have the resources to make it through this pandemic and economic crisis.”

The general election is November 3rd.
