The USDA has announced contracts for the third round of the Farmers to Families Food Box Program.

"USDA is partnering with national, regional, and local suppliers whose workforce have been impacted by the closure of restaurants, hotels, and other food service businesses," Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue said recently during a Zoom meeting. "These partnerships for purchasing products in boxing it up to give to families in need."

Perdue said USDA added $1 billion to the program, brining the grand total of the Food Box Program to $4 billion, of that more than $90 million has been distributed to families affected by the pandemic.

"I've traveled around the country over the past few months to see first hand this program in action helping people who've fallen on hard times."

Details of the program including a full list of approved suppliers is available online at the USDA's Website.
