Oil prices seem to be stuck in a rut.

For the past two-plus weeks, prices for West Texas Crude have hovered around the $40 per barrel mark, held in place by an uptick in coronavirus cases worldwide as well as additional shutdowns. That holding pattern has resulted in slight relief at the local diesel station.

The national average for a gallon of diesel dropped one cent this week, to $2.39 per gallon, Washington’s average also moved down one cent to $2.71, Oregon’s diesel price dipped by two cents to $2.58 a gallon, and Idaho’s average also slipped two cents to $2.36.

Here are some of the lowest local prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.29 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
  • $2.29 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.79 a gallon in Pullman
  • $2.28 a gallon in Lewiston
  • $2.33 a gallon in Moses Lake
  • $2.23 a gallon in Pendleton
  • $2.89 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.35 a gallon in Yakima
