Typically, this week, the dairy industry would gather in Madison, WI for World Dairy Expo. However, because of COVID-19 the international event has gone on line. So, the World Dairy Expo team is using the week to focus on the history of the event.

“So we are not hosting a virtual show in the sense that people have come to understand that term in the last couple of months, but what we are doing is really making sure that we are present on social media this week," said Katie Schmitt with World Dairy Expo. "We are looking back on the 54 years of history that World Dairy Expo has here in Madison and as well as really sharing those memories that people love and hold dear across the grounds.”

Additionally, the trade show and other parts of the event are available online at the World Dairy Expo website.

“Our website is a great resource this week and year-round for people to find new products that would have been in our trade show," Schmitt continued. "Companies have been submitting products and services to our Innovation Unveiled platform all summer long. So, that is a great list that’s full of new products that are out there. Our Pavilion Promotions is a new platform that was launched this summer to help our dairy cattle show exhibitors really advertise and promote their dairy show cattle genetics and services. And of course. Worlddairyexpo.com is also where you are going to find the online Purple Cow Gift Shop.”

Schmitt said they are already planning the 2021 event.

“Our staff and our leadership team have really taken this opportunity of a no-show year to reevaluate our strategic plan and look at ways to make Expo even better next year and years to come. So, World Dairy Expo 2021 will be back in Madison September 28 through October 2.”
