Even if lawmakers have not forged an agreement on a short-term government spending bill, keeping the federal government running through mid-December, Round 2 of the Coroniavirus Food Assistance Program, CFAP, would have still continued.

"The money to fund CFAP 2 was part of the CARES Act and their was language in their that replenished CCC to the tune of $14 billion dollars and it was directed to be used for assistance for Coronavirus," said FSA head Richard Fordyce. "And so those dollars were already in, had already been replenished in to the CCC account."

So the money for CFAP 2 is available. And Fordyce noted the program will continue provided  the operation of the federal government continues.

CFAP 2 sign-up is underway now and will continue through December 11th.
