Washington State University will hold a virtual workshop in early November, focused on soil health and what it means for the tree fruit industry. Regional Extension specialist Tianna Dupont says “How Do We Measure and Manage Soil Health for Productive Orchards?” will help orchardist the constantly evolving world of soil health.

“Folks we're asking us 'what is soil health and which properties of soil health are important for me?' We've had a four year study looking at 21 indicators and in this workshop we're going to share about what we found in which parts of soil health are related to tree fruit productivity.”

In addition to the virtual nature, Dupont says the November event will be different than a typical workshop in a variety of ways.

"This will be an abbreviated workshop where we have a combination of videoed hands on activities so people can still see the soil health properties and discussion to have as much interaction as possible.”

The workshops will take place on either November 4th or November 5th, both events start at 9 a.m. Click Here to learn more, or to register.
