"This past year we were unable to do it because of COVID. A lot of schools weren't meeting in person and so we decided to give it to the Emergency Feeding fund to hit the front lines and those most vulnerable students that aren't going to the classroom, aren't going to schools.”

The most recent $20,000 donation stems from USApple’s grant program, Apples4Ed. Grondine, added the School Nutrition Foundation will use the funds in a variety of ways.

“Communities, schools districts have applied for grants. They allocate it based upon need and so it's going to go for meals, PPE, snack and go packaging, anything to keep the kids healthy and safe.”

This is the fourth year the USApple has donated money for its healthy eating initiative.
