The Washington state Farm Service Agency announced Thursday that wheat growers impacted by wildfires this season can utilize Conservation Reserve Program Emergency Haying and Grazing for longer than the typical 90 days. FSA said the extension cannot run past December 31st. This applies to both producers who have already utilized emergency haying and grazing as well those who have not.

Growers must still follow the normal rules for emergency haying and grazing. Producers who have already completed the needed requirement don’t need to repeat the process. All livestock must be removed by the end of the year.
