“Additionally, students who plan to work in the tree fruit industry would quality as well.  Our scholarships are not limited to the students who plan to have their careers in the industry but they are open to students who are pursuing careers in the industry and are open to students whose parents are employed in the tree fruit industry.”

Since 2000, WAEF has provided $10 million in scholarships. Witherbee noted these scholarships benefits the students, family and industry alike.

"A lot of our scholarship recipients are going to return to our industry communities. Some will work directly in the tree fruit industry, but many others will provide important services that are so necessary in our thriving community. So they may work in the medical field, legal field or other parts of the business community.”

Application deadline is March 1st. Visit WAEF's Website to learn more or to apply.
