After several days of moving higher to prices not seen in nine months, oil prices slipped Monday, pushed down by the ongoing increase in coronavirus cases. The ongoing surge brings into question what oil demand will look like in the months ahead. West Texas Crude slipped to the mid-$45 per barrel range in Monday’s action. The downward movement came days after OPEC nations met in Vienna deciding to increase production starting in January, and agreed to revisit the issue production output each month.

What has that done to diesel prices?

The National average for a gallon of diesel increased two cents this week to $2.44, Washington’s average was unchanged to $2.83, Idaho’s was unchanged at $2.65 a gallon, while Oregon’s average decreased one cent to $2.71 a gallon.

Here are some of the lowest local diesel prices:

  • $2.59 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
  • $2.69 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.69 a gallon in Pullman
  • $2.49 a gallon in Lewiston
  • $2.43 a gallon in Pendleton
  • $2.59 a gallon in Moses Lake
  • $2.91 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.49 a gallon in Yakima
