Many are hopeful many of the problems from 2020 will soon start to leave us in the New Year, but oil prices, and oil consumption is not expected to change anytime soon. Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy said 2020 was a rollercoaster year, and while the past several months have shown a level of stability, prices have not returned to pre-pandemic levels. He noted 2021 will bring continued recovery in oil demand, pushing fuel prices higher, but he continued we won’t probably get back to normal anytime soon.

As we prepare to wrap up the year, the national average for a gallon of diesel increased three cents to $2.55, Oregon’s price held steady at $2.72 a gallon, Washington’s average was flat at $2.83, and Idaho’s diesel prices held as well at $2.64 a gallon. Here are some of the lowest prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.65 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
  • $2.39 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.69 a gallon in Pullman
  • $2.49 a gallon in Lewiston
  • $2.55 a gallon in Pendleton
  • $2.59 a gallon in Moses Lake
  • $2.73 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.69 a gallon in Yakima
