The USDA is out with its final rule on employment and training programs for SNAP recipients. The USDA's Brandon Lipps said the changes are aimed at working with states to enhance support services for beneficiaries, returning to the workforce. He noted when the rule was first proposed in March, employment and training efforts would have stronger emphasis on case management.

"A crucial tool for ensuring ENT support it customized to an individual's needs and circumstances. Allowing ENT funds to be used for subsidized employment, shifting efforts to proven strategies like apprenticeships, and allowing states to offer job retention services."

"USDA remains committed to partnering with and empowering state agencies to best leverage SNAP employment and training to ensure that all SNAP participants have the opportunity to experience the transformational power of work," Lipps continued.
