"Last month we focused on soil fertility and how to most effectively manage soil fertility to optimize your efforts within the cropping system. This month we are going to be focusing on some of the other benefits of soil health."

Six separate webinars will be offered overall. Subjects include carbon cycling and management, wireworm suppression, disease suppression, soil acidification, microbial communities and more.

"We also are going to get to hear from the lead from the state soil conservation district. They are going to implementing Washington's new sustainable farms and fields program. She's going to discuss what's coming down the pipeline for that program and what the opportunities are for regional farmers within that context."

Registration is free visit The WSU Farmers Network Website to learn more. McFarland added, for a small fee, they will also offer continuing education credit for certified crop advisors.
