Northwest growers plated more wheat in 2020.

All wheat planted in Idaho totaled 1.24 million acres last year, up 4% from 2019. Harvested acres hit 1.16 million, up 3% from the previous year. All wheat production totaled 113 million bushels, up 14% year over year. Yield is estimated at 96.7 bushels per acre, up 8.9 bushels from 2019.

In Oregon, all wheat planted totaled 740,000 acres, unchanged from a year ago. Harvested acres totaled 725,000 acres, down 1% from 2019. Production totaled 46.4 million bushels, down 7% from last year. Yield is estimated at 64.0 bushels per acre, down 4.0 bushels from 2019.

In Washington, growers planted 2.34 million acres, up 3% from 2019. Harvested acres totaled 2.29 million, is up 3% from the last year. Production totaled 166 million bushels, up 16% from last year. Yield is estimated at 72.5 bushels per acre, up 7.8 bushels from the previous year.

All hay harvested in Idaho totaled 1.30 million acres, unchanged from 2019. All hay production totaled 5.27 million tons, up 3% from last year. Yield is estimated at 4.05 tons per acre, up 0.12 tons from 2019.

In Oregon, all hay harvested totaled 960,000 acres, down 1% from the previous year. Production totaled 2.98 million tons, down 11% from a year ago. Yield is estimated at 3.10 tons per acre, down 0.37 tons from 2019.

All hay harvested in Washington totaled 690,000 acres, up 8% from 2019. Production totaled 2.62 million tons, up 7% from last year. Yield is estimated at 3.79 tons per acre, down 0.04 tons per acre from 2019.
