Congratulations to Walla Walla, WA-based Harvust. The program, which company officials say help farm employers handle Human Resources needs, was recognized as the 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year at this year’s virtual AFBF Convention. Harvust co-founder Riley Clubb said winning was not only a great feeling, but it came as a complete surprise.

“When we first heard about it, which was probably August of last year, what really perked by ears was that it was the Farm Bureau. And, we have just had a really, really good relationship with the Washington State Farm Bureau.”

Clubb said he didn’t think Harvust would be received quite like this.

“You know, I thought, here’s a great opportunity to just kind of share our story and hopefully get to know some of the folks at the American Farm Bureau Federation, at more of the national level, and obviously the prize money is extremely helpful as well, but really we were just kind of looking for an opportunity to kind of share our story and elevate kind of what Harvust is doing, and clearly that was successful.”

So how does harvest work? Clubb said by making the hiring process more efficient and cost-effective.

“Harvust can make the HR manager’s job easy, but also the safety consultants job easy, right, because safety consultants or any real HR advisors ,they want to tell you, here’s the form you need to use and here’s the video you need to use, and here’s when to send it. We just provide all of the technology to make all of that easier and more cost effective.”

Not only does Clubb enjoy the recognition of winning Entrepreneur of the Year, but the award came with a $50,000 prize.
