The National Cattlemen's Beef Association has responded to the Biden Administration's recent Executive Orders tied to climate change and American farming. NCBA Vice President Of Government Affairs, Ethan Lane, said the NCBA is pleased that the Biden administration has made it clear that they intend to start by having conversations with the Ag community and cattle producers across the country.

"We're excited to engage with that team and help them understand just what an exceptional job our producers around the country already are doing to be sustainable. It's not well understood that cattle production in the U.S. not only results in the highest quality beef in the world, but with the lowest environmental footprint.”

Lane added having these conversations is a critical first step. Lane added roughly 600 million acres across the county is currently used for cattle production on land that’s, often, not suitable for crops, so cattle production is a suitable management tool.

"Effective grazing can do so much for soil health improvement, it does wonders for preserving space for wildlife, it manages fuel loads that can lead to those catastrophic wildfires if they're not managed properly.”

Lane noted there's a host of benefits that you can really only attain if you have that grazing footprint being utilized as a management tool on those landscapes.
