National FFA week is February 20th through the 27th, and right in the middle of the festivities is Give FFA Day, which this year, falls on Thursday, February 25th. National FFA Annual Fund Manager Kimberly Coveney said Give FFA Day supports their leadership fund, which is where the greatest need currently exists.

She noted the Day also invites donors to direct their gifts back to their state association or foundation. Donations, she added, flow from the national level, through the state associations, down to the local chapter.

"So while it's not possible on Give FFA Day to direct donations directly to the chapter through the national platform, it does benefit all of the chapters because the state level is providing much of the leadership opportunities and competitive events that the local chapters are taking part in."

Coveney said this year, their goal is 1,500 donors during the 24-hour event. She added for 2021, they’ve seen more corporate support this year than in years past. Previously, corporate sponsors have participated by encouraging their employees to give. However, this Give FFA Day, the first $25,000 donated will be matched by Carhartt and the second $25,000 will be matched by John Deere.

"We have some other corporate sponsors that are going to be offering challenges throughout the day. During a particular hour several other sponsors will be matching donations. So it's really important to follow along throughout the day and see what other opportunities there will be to double your giving."

Additionally, former FFA members and alumni are encouraged to donate $19.71 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the National FFA Alumni; which was chartered in 1971.
