The oldest Asian Pacific American group at USDA recently sat down with Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack.

"Good afternoon my name is Justin Rhee and on behalf of the Asian Pacific American Network in Agriculture thank you all for joining this meeting to share your thoughts and concerns on bias, racism, and harassment against Asian-American and Pacific Islander Communities."

Asian Pacific American Network in Agriculture, or APANA, was founded in 1989 originally to advocate for Asian Pacific American employees at USDA.

"Over the years APANA expanded its efforts to assist USDA to further its mission to better service Asian-American customers," Vilsack continued. "For example, APANA members help USDA agencies by translating USDA pamphlets and documents in may Asian languages."

Vilsack, spent about an hour online where he listened to concerns from Asian Pacific American employees and answered questions.
