When it comes to the dollar value of food and agricultural products imported into the United States, the USDA has reported a substantial increase. According to USDA Economist, Bart Kenner the month of May was a record one when it came to Ag imports. He added the value of those imports hit $14.5 billion which he noted was not just a record for the month of May, but "a record for any month, ever."

Kenner noted the previous record was set in March. Which means for this fiscal year, the U.S. has imported $105.7 billion worth of Ag products, a 10% increase from a year ago. What are some of the most popular products coming to America?

"Fresh and frozen fruits, fresh and frozen vegetables, prepared and preserved fruits, and prepared and preserved vegetables. And those are all up."

At least in value. Bart Kenner said the prices for those products are up as well as demand.
