Drought numbers across the Pacific Northwest continue to move in the wrong direction. According to the latest USDA numbers, Washington’s D-4, or Exceptional Drought designation jumped from 6% of the state to nearly 28% this week; an increase of nearly five times. Most of that growth occurred in the southern and central part of the state. In addition, the D-3, or Extreme Drought designation in Washington also increased.
