The USDA is reminding farmers and those in rural America about REAP, the Rural Energy for America Program. Rural Business and Cooperative Service Administrator Karama Neal says it's a program that benefits customers in a variety of ways.

"It helps agricultural producers and rural small businesses to purchase and install renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvement. It is not only bio-based energy, but all kinds of energy products that are going to improve energy efficiency."

Neal said they are currently accepting REAP applications. Whole loan applications are accepted all year long, for fiscal year 2022 grant application deadlines are October 31st of this year and March 31st of next year.

"In terms of eligibility, that can sort of vary depending on what projects you're interested in applying for. Just a variety of entities."
