The USDA recently asked crop insurance policy holders provided feedback regarding two nationwide pilot programs.
The results have led to updates to both the Pasture Rangeland and Forage pilot insurance program and the apiculture pilot insurance program. USDA Risk Management Agency Acting Administrator, Richard Flournoy on the the most notable updates:

"Typically that sales closing date where you can purchase your policy is November the 15th. We moved that to December 1 of this year."

The definition of veteran farmer or rancher is also updated for both programs. And another flexibility connected to pasture, rangeland and forage coverage is:

"Allowing your FSA form 578 to be used in conjunction with other documents to verify insurable interest. That way producers can use one form of crop insurance and FSA program that's something we've heard about out in the countryside."
