What changes were made to the WASDE report when it comes to wheat?

"Mainly incorporating changes from the September 30th small grains summary report where it showed reduced production by about 51 million bushels relative to what we had been expecting. And with those tired supplies we pulled back with our feed use forecast; wheat feed use forecast as well."

World Outlook Board Chair, Mark Jekanowski, says tighter supplies and higher prices may discourage some wheat feeding.

"Now we're tightened up ending stock by 35 million bushels and just realized these current ending stocks levels would be the lowest since the 2007-2008 marketing year."

So what does that mean for local growers?

"We also raised our season average price by ten cents a bushel up to $6.70 a bushel. That would be $1.65 per bushel year-over-year from the 2020 crop."
