A recent gathering of North American Agricultural leaders focused on opportunities to work together to find pathways to more sustainable global food systems.

"I think it's important and necessary for us as we are developing and thinking in new ways and transforming our food and agriculture system to look at ways we can create more, new and better markets."  said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsak.

"I'm optimistic as to what has happened in human history that science has always come to the rescue when we are facing problems."  added Mexican Ag Secretary Victor Manuel Villalobos.

Canadian Ag. and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau further stated, "We have a very constant commitment to making sure our agriculture is sustainable and that we can feed the World.  The consumers are also expecting a lot from all of us."

The three leaders were present, both in person and via Skype, at a World Food Price panel event on improving sustainable food systems in Des Moines Iowa.
