Earlier this year, USDA announced assistance for eligible livestock producers impacted by drought associated feed transportation costs. FSA Administrator, Zach Ducheneaux, said the assistance is connected to ELAP, and now producers also have an online feed transportation producer tool.

"Producers can actually use the Excel worksheet to calculate what their estimated payment would be. If a producer has receipts  from last year where they did their normal forage or feed hauling, and then keep tallies of what they're doing this year in this drought; those are the data sets they're going to need in order to be able to use the tool."

Information on the online tool including a user tutorial video as well as access to the tool itself, can be found by visiting FSA's ELAP Website.
